Online Learning Approach (OLA Day)
At Pan-Asia International School (PAIS), we recognize the importance of being prepared for any learning environment. To support this, we hold Online Learning Approach (OLA) Days once per semester (twice per year).
The purpose of OLA Day is to ensure that students and facilitators are fully prepared for online learning in situations where students may need to stay home or in the event of unforeseen circumstances requiring remote learning. We believe this practice is essential for maintaining readiness in today’s evolving digital landscape.
On OLA Day, students follow a structured timetable through trusted digital platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet, with facilitators delivering live lessons to keep them engaged and connected. Parents and students receive clear guidance in advance, ensuring the online learning experience runs smoothly for all.
Benefits of OLA Day
Strengthens Digital Literacy and Adaptability
Students gain hands-on experience with digital tools and online platforms, helping them become confident users of technology. By adapting to different modes of learning, they develop resilience and flexibility—essential skills for success in higher education and the modern workplace.
Builds Student Independence and Responsibility
Working from home encourages students to take greater ownership of their learning. They learn how to manage their time, stay organized, and meet deadlines, all of which foster self-discipline and accountability. These skills extend beyond the classroom and prepare them for lifelong learning.
Ensures Continuity of Learning in Any Situation
OLA Day equips the PAIS community to respond smoothly to unexpected circumstances such as health concerns, travel restrictions, or emergencies. Because students and facilitators are already familiar with the online learning process, education can continue without disruption—keeping academic progress on track.
With OLA Day, PAIS empowers students to remain confident, connected, and future-ready—wherever learning takes place.
