Math Challenge 2017

The International Math Challenge hosted annually by Pan-Asia International School took place on Saturday, 25th of February 2017 in PAIS for the preliminary round, and at King Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang for the final round.

International Math Challenge VI received distinguished guests, such as Dr. Kritsanapong Keeratikorn (Former Deputy of Minister of Education), Dr. Supan Tangjitkusonman, (Vice Rector of King Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang), Dr. Yilmaz Ari (CEO of Marmara Schools), Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh (Vice Director of the Ministry of Education of Vietnam), and Mr. Phung Tuan Long (First Secretary - Representative in Chief, Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in The Kingdom of Thailand), alongside Mr. Idris Kalkan (Head of Pan-Asia International School), and Ms. Sumalee Wichaidit (PAIS Thai Director).

This year, the International Math Challenge VI has opened categories for Middle School only. The event convened 268 participants from 34 international and bilingual schools in 11 different countries. Math Challenge stimulates a student’s love of math while introducing and sharpening analytical skills.

Featuring challenging word problems from previous Math Olympiad tests, the ongoing Math Olympiad Series is designed to help students strengthen math intuition and master creative problem solving strategies. Students become proficient in problem solving technique. Discover the fun of math, and increase interest in participating in the national and international Math competitions. Besides, Math Challenge is a very good opportunity for students to practice internationalism and global values they learn at school. Each and every contestants got the chance to meet new friends of different nationalities. This is also an opportunity to observe similarities and common points beyond differences, as it offers the best solution for the conflicts among the different countries in the world.
